Short summary
Maggie begins to wonder why she's so interested in Gary's case, and Mike inadvertently offers her an encouraging piece of advice. Later, Maggie engages Phyllis in a discussion about allowing Gary to remain at Hope Memorial. Carolee refuses to play doctor with Steve and cautions him to not give her advice after he insinuates her interest in Dan Allison. Phyllis eavesdrops on Gary as he asks Maggie if the decision of where to have surgery is ultimately his. When Maggie hesitates to answer, Phyllis answers for her.
