Short summary
Steve angrily walks out on Karen despite her begging him to stay. Karen's words echo in Matt's mind. Matt finds it difficult to concentrate on his game of Scrabble with Maggie. Maggie detects a psychological reason for the unusual words Matt chooses in the game. When Steve returns to the hospital, Carolee warns him of Liz's hostile mood. Steve and Liz trade insults. Matt becomes annoyed as Maggie urges him to talk about his troubles. Karen phones Matt, but he refuses to speak with her, which arouses Maggie's suspicions.
