The victims from the car crash are brought into the emergency room at Hope Memorial, and one's dead on arrival. Maggie learns that the accident victims are the Corrigan family from South Dakota. Carolee laments to Liz that her life is in a wait-and-see period. Liz labels Julie an "omen of evil" and suggests one day there will be a showdown between Carolee and Julie. Maggie attempts to contact Phyllis Corrigan, the next-of-kin for the Corrigan family. As Nick is called in for surgery and the operating room gets prepared, a tearful Maggie watches over the youngest Corrigan and remembers that this is the second fatal accident she's been involved in.
