Scientific based episode explores the possibility of human cloning, and whether or not it is now or one day will be possible to clone humans, and the moral and ethical implications involved if it were. Scientists are shown experimenting with human DNA, and another focus of study is the already natural account of identical twins, and how the same cells can duplicate themselves to create this phenomena, and why. If clones would share the same behavioral traits as each other, or be radically different(like the clichéd "evil twin" for example) is also a part of this equation. Reasonably interesting look at this process that is still being studied today.

One of the better episodes. In Search of Cloning is a science oriented episode. Excellently explains the process of D N A. What makes twins. The process of cloning. What a clone would be vs a twin. Plants, and other animals are examined. What could be cloned in the future? A dated episode, but the hot issues are addressed. Can Cloning be done? Is cloning ethical? What are the effects of cloning? Many experts explain cloning. Great visuals. Fascinating as Spock would say. 9 out of 10. Len give excellent narration! The narration made the series great! I wonder what is cloned today? I wonder if there ever will be a remake or clone for a new In Search of?

    In Search Of... "Cloning" (1978)

The third episode from season three takes a look at the subject of cloning. Obviously, you're watching an episode that was made in 1978 so it's not as "up to date" on cloning but it is interesting to see where the scientific abilities were back then. The most interesting aspect of this episode was seeing that there really wasn't much of a moral outrage placed on the topic. When cloning is discussed today the firestorm is usually a lot hotter but that really wasn't covered here as I guess it was viewed differently. We do hear about what good could come from cloning including making extra cows and the impact that would have on people throughout the world. This certainly isn't the greatest episode but it was entertaining.
