Short summary
An irate neighbor presents Frasier with a litter of puppies which she claims are Eddie's. Frasier insists that Martin have Eddie fixed, which touches off an argument between the two over Frasier's house rules.
The scene title Un Peu De Pate Derriere Les Oreiles translates to 'Some Pâté Behind the Ears'.
The celebrity caller in this episode is Lily Tomlin who, as Rita, is an overworked housewife with four children who's about to crack under the strain; Frasier (Kelsey Grammer), who's just been laden with a litter of puppies, suggests that she consider getting one.
The title is from William Shakespeare's play 'Julius Caesar': "This was the most unkindest cut of all."
Niles (David Hyde Pierce) puts the pate' behind his ears to get the Eddie's attention and impress Daphne (Jane Leeves). This is also what the producers of the show do in order to get Moose (Moose), the dog who plays Eddie, to be affectionate with the actors during a scene.
