Minna Marlin, an actress, is in Tombstone doing a dramatic play. Sheriff Behan takes her to dinner as he has a strong romantic interest in her. After a pleasant dinner with champagne he tries to impress her by talking not only about the legal money he makes but also the money from his connections with the Clanton gang. A waiter overhearing his talk reveals it to Old Man Clanton who summons Behan. Meanwhile, Marlin asks to see Earp revealing that she doesn't think it proper for a sheriff to be involved with criminals. Earp lets her know that everyone is aware of Behan's connections.
