Short summary

As Wells once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold, for help. Joe and Caitlin warn Barry that Cold can't be trusted. True to form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets reinforcements - Arrow and Firestorm.

First cousins Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Robbie Amell (Firestorm) appear together for the first time on TV.

Every 6th episode after episode 4 has featured Rogues.

This is the third crossover with Arrow (2012).

Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, orders an ice-cold drink while the jukebox plays Foreigner's "Cold As Ice."

Second time Peyton List and Robbie Amell appear together after the TV series The Tomorrow People (2013).

Cisco's shirt is a 1986 Tokyo Burger Run t-shirt. The kanji translates roughly to "Meat of Happiness."

Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, has been featured in every episode with the word "Rogue" in the title.

Features Deathbolt, a meta-human that was first in Arrow: Broken Arrow (2015).

Fourth use of the word "Rogue" in a title.

In the big fight scene against the Reverse-Flash, every actor is Canadian, excluding Grant Gustin (The Flash).

Robbie Amell (Firestorm) is from Toronto. Stephen Amell (The Arrow) is from Toronto. Tom Cavanagh (The Reverse-Flash) is from Ottawa.

Even though you don't see him, Victor Garber (Firestorm) is from London, Ontario.

Second appearance of Roy G. Bivolo/Rainbow Raider.

The Saints and Sinners bar, as seen from an exterior shot when Barry meets Captain Cold, is a real bar in Española, New Mexico USA; however, this location is not mentioned in the filming locations.

The ZIP code on Iris's return labels, 74912, is not an assigned code; however, the first three digits indicate a sectional center facility near Arkoma, OK.

When Team Flash and The Rogues arrive at Ferris Air, Barry mentions to Snart that Ferris Air shut down after a test pilot went missing. This is a reference to Hal Jordan, a.k.a. Green Lantern.

Reverse flash says to Oliver that the history books say he lived until the age of 86. This will mean Oliver lived a long life, not losing it to to his actions as the Arrow.

In the opening monologue from Wells this week he gives us his view on what he's doing and what we would do if given the same circumstances. He's one of those villains that you do understand to a certain extent what he's doing. It's not really justified at all, but I don't think there is black and white in this situation, there's just Wells.

Unfortunately Wells didn't get much screen time at all this week. Instead the episode focused on Team Flash transporting the group of villains they had locked up for so long at Star Labs to Lian Yu. As a concept, the idea is great because it creates a place for all upcoming and past villains to reside for the time being. And wouldn't we all like to see how Slade reacts to some of these meta-humans? Of course, the plan doesn't work out too well as Snart, sabotaged Barry's plan after all. But I love the idea of Flash's villains helping him fight other villains for the greater good. It's always been something fun that the comics tackle from time to time. This also could have been a time for Snart to prove himself for the future Legends of Tomorrow TV show he will be a part of, but I guess it just proves he can never be truly trusted.

Eddie was saved from Wells' lair, and while he broke up with Iris, he wasn't hating on Barry or the rest of the team. For now it seems that he's just trying to grasp what in the world is happening instead of going after Barry, like a clichéd character would. You really feel for Eddie after all that he's gone through this season. It's like Slade, I know he will eventually turn out to be a villain, but I somehow hope the writers take him in a different direction.

Finally, in the last 6 minutes of the episode, we get the Arrow and Firestorm guest appearance. The marketing made it seem like they played a much bigger part, unfortunately it was a brief cameo that turned to be more confusing than anything. Mild Arrow spoilers to come so be aware. SPOILERS: If Oliver came and helped Barry here does that mean that he did this while he was Ras? Or does this somehow happen after Arrow's season. I would assume because Oliver said "I may need a favor" and knowing Flash makes an appearance on tomorrow's Arrow, that it occurs somewhere in the middle of episode 22 of Arrow, or right before. I just wish the timeline was more clear. Or just don't have any crossovers this late in the season at all? Although it was pretty awesome seeing Arrow kick Wells' butt. SPOILERS END.

So with Reverse Flash/Wells seemingly defeated, where does this leave us for next week? Does Barry make a compromise to Reverse Flash and agree to send him back to his home if he somehow stops the particle accelerator? Although I know he needs the accelerator to go back, I have to assume they will find a way to keep Cavanagh on the show. And for the record, I definitely believe that Wells planned to get caught, because that's what every villain does these days.

EDIT: I forgot to talk about the awesome Hal Jordan reference tonight. Ferris Air has always been a part of the universe but hearing that it shut down because one it's test pilots disappeared was one of the coolest easter eggs ever. I think this show is going to be able to continue to soft reference other JL members, even if we never see them in costume on the show. It's just a cool thing for the comic book nerds out there.

    +Oliver beating Wells

    +Villain and hero team up

    +Many many many guest stars

    +Feel for Eddie, yet again

    -Timeline is a bit confusing

    -Wells was barely in it

"Rogue Air" is an episode that has been hyped so much by many fans alike since the advertisement for this was just mind blowing. We were promised to have an epic battle between Flash, Firestorm and Arrow against Reverse Flash. This was it, the fans wanted it and have been drooling over it. Yet, here we get another plot line which more or less was good but not why we're here for.

Episode kicks off with a Harrison Wells narration which really set up the mood and got me excited and hopeful for what was about to happen next in the episode. Then the team gets news that the particle accelerator has been activated and Reverse Flash literally runs away from the episode. I was expecting more of Reverse Flash in the episode and I wasn't really expecting Harrison Wells to be gone off screen for almost the whole episode. Since the particle accelerator may endanger the lives of the meta humans in their prison and Barry needs to find a way to get them to safety. By then I was confused as to where the team up would tie into this episode but then it started to make sense -ish like the mention of a couple things in Arrow. As the episode progressed, Barry seeks help from Captain Cold and it (of course) divides the group. It was nice to see the group now struggling to juggle all these things and take desperate measures and it shows how they are sometimes weak and hopeless without the help of Harrison Wells. Captain Cold and his sister were okay I guess, nothing has changed with the menacing style of Cold. The acting remained good if not average, although some scenes wherein Barry overreacts or such were there. Thankfully, we actually got to care about Eddie and Iris after 20 episodes. Knowing that Eddie won't marry Iris and the change and development it brought to him was great. It was also kind of sad to see Eddie in this situation and that was a good thing because we now actually are seeing some good development. Then when we finally reach the end of the Rogue plot line, we're left wondering: "Wait...where's the team up?!?!?" the thing that most of us were here for in the first place. I honestly thought the episode was already going to end and that could've been a bummer, but then the final minutes came..and Arrow and Firestorm come out of nowhere to give us what we wanted. Don't get me wrong, the final minutes was the best action sequence the show has ever had and the visuals remained intact and brilliant even after 21 episodes. The final minutes were intense and brought me to the edge of my seat. Granted, it still kind of felt like it was shoe horned in the episode, especially considering it was put in the last few minutes when most of us thought this was the main course.

Overall, great episode nonetheless. Excited for the season finale. -Reverse Flash literally runs away from the episode, -Confusing advertisement that we were getting an episode focused on 3 vs Reverse Flash, +Acting and Plot were good, +Great development for Eddie and Iris, +The Final Battle, -Kind of felt like it was shoehorned in.

    Verdict: 8.2/10

With two episodes left, the time for sidetracking is over. The Reverse Flash looms over the entire episode without much face time, setting the "master plan" events in motion. Our hero reluctantly teams up with Captain Cold and you can imagine how that went. Cold continues to be the best of The Flash's Rogues, thanks in no small part to Wentworth Miller, who absolutely own in the role. Here he's once again assisted by his "sister" Golden Glider (Peyton List) who is every bit Miller's equal. Along with a return of the various freak-of-the-weeks from the past, it's a fun little show down that's only a prelude to the real action.

There's still the requisite romantic drama, and it doesn't always mesh well with the larger story, but some of the bricks have finally started to fall in place. The finale is The Flash joined by some familiar friends in a mini-showdown with Reverse Flash that ends on a cliffhanger that I wasn't quite expecting. I have a gnawing feeling it's a misdirection as the final episode of season 1 looms.

Well I can say that Flash is turning into a unique serial,Although there is still much challenge for success and improvement. One drawback of this series is that many things are to be unreasonable. Unlike the successful series like Breaking Bad or The Wire that tries everything goes as intuitive and realistic. Another point is that many scenes are unnecessary, fiction and non-real. However, some questions about this episode should be asked: 1. Why doctor Wells acted so reckless ? 2. Why Barry Allen trapped easy? 3. why Director and writer of this episode did not want to end the role of Captain Cold? 4. Why this episode not use of its potential and Instead focused on less important things? And 5. why Director of the Flash is trying to connect this series with Arrow? and now the answers that in my view are correct: 1. Because something worse is going to happen (if the flash still wants to surprise us) or they will presented stereotyped ending (in which case I would be very upset). 2. because This is the charm of this series 3. Captain Cold is an interesting character and has great potential, but this is not true in the case of her sister. 4. Probably because they did not want to reduce the appeal of the final episode (logical) or mistakes in this case were unwanted (irrational). 5. if i want to be honest I should say that I don't know!! the flash is better than arrow now.

i am a big fan of flash and the arrow series but i was really disappointed ... we have all been waiting for the ultimate fight between The Flash and the Reverse Flash that we all have been waiting and excited to see the entire season .. BUT obviously the director and writers seemed bored and they were like " LET'S WRAP THIS UP " ... really ? 2 minutes and 20 seconds was the duration of the "final fight " ?? i mean you got the arrow on this episode for this ? they didn't make it look like a challenge at all .. it was more of " piece of cake " .. they spent 42 minutes on secondary characters and non essential events .. while throwing the core of the episode away !!
