Short summary

Carrie finally has a chance to present everybody to Aleksandr at a dinner, but he's rather aloof and drops the bombshell that he expects her to move with him to Paris for good. Samantha and Charlotte act supportive after some questions, but Miranda doesn't hide she's dead against the idea. Enid invites Carrie to a party, and asks her to bring Aleksandr and a friend of his for her. However she rejects graying food critic Martin Grable as an elderly 'hobbit', dumps him on Carrie and argues the fishing pond for her age group is so small that Carrie's relationship with the older Russian is unfair. Charlotte's King Charles Spaniel joins the list of pregnant females to be jealous of, annoyingly after doing it with eight pedigree-less mutts, but when the puppies come so does Charlotte's maternal instinct. After ample consideration, Carrie chucks her job and announces, symbolically at the funeral of Lexi Featherston, the party scandal queen of the 1980s, she is moving with Aleksandr to Paris.

In every episode of the series, there has been a question involved with Carrie's writing. The moment Carrie changes the question mark to a period in this episode, she doesn't write anything until the very end of the series in a montage.

All of the footage of New York during and after the snow storm was shot by the regular Sex and the City (1998) crew, and not by a stock footage house. It is the only time in the series where the city is shown without the girls in the shot.

Michael Patrick King wanted to show the newborn puppies, but none were available and it seemed like they would have to use older puppies. The night before shooting, the pet wranglers found three newborn puppies at the pet sanctuary and they became a part of the shoot until the last episode.

The funeral of Lexi Featherstone (Kristen Johnston) in the episode "Splat!" takes place at St. Mark's Church in the east village on a snowy day. As there was no snow on the ground, HBO trucked in a large amount to use for the filming. Two days after filming, it snowed eight inches.

Enid's apartment is actually a set that is built 20 feet off the ground so that when Lexi Featherston goes out the window, you actually see her fall.
