» » Riverdale Chapter Thirty-Four: Judgment Night (2016– )

Short summary

An all-out war with the North and the Southside triggers; Veronica makes a devastating discovery; Betty comes face to face with the Black Hood.

The episode was previously titled "The Killing of a Sacred Deer". That title comes from Yorgos Lanthimos' and Efthymis Filippou's 2017 psychological horror film of the same name.

This episode is a nod to the 1993 movie, Judgement Night. Both the movie and the episode have a plot of 3 friends trying to survive a dangerous night.

When Malachai storms Pop's Diner- his face makeup is reminiscent of the Crow and his nail covered baseball bat is a nod to Neagan's bat Lucille.

Hal Cooper is revealed to be the Black Hood in this episode

WOW! JUST WOW! This episode was everything I could possibly ask for! It had madness, confrontations, new mysteries and everything else that a good episode of a teenage show must have! I honestly knew it was Hal from the beginning and unlike too many people who changed their mind I still believed it was him and I'm so proud of the way they traveled everything! It was way better than season 1! Also I just hope they continue being this way because this is so amazing and dope!!!

I am a huge fan of this episode even though season 2 wasn't that good! Really great acting and a very interesting plot twist. It was very powerful and also not boring at all and I think that they did a very good job with this one. Hopefully, it continues to be that good.

I once said that the show was slipping, and I would eventually stop watching the show unless it got better. These past few weeks have convinced me that the show is NOT slipping, they knew what they were doing.

This episode was everything I want from the show, suspense, heartbreak, thrilling sequences that makes you terrified for your favorite characters. Absolutely amazing. I honestly thought this was a season finale, but it's not, and I'm extremely happy about it since it ended with a humongous cliffhanger.

All I can say is that if you were worried about the show slipping, then you do not have to be worried any more. We're all in for a wild ride.

I said that the last 3 episodes are gonna be good. But honestly didn't expect it to be this good. Now, I have very high expectations for the Finale I just hope they don't disappoint me.

Episode 21 was one of my favourite episodes of this season yet. I really wanted Betty to kill her dad or torture him, which would have been nice.

    Is jughead deal or?

Season two has been a downhill slope and this episode does very little to make up for it. All the characters we want to love have been mixed up to introduce some suspension and just ended up introducing a lot of confusion and no focus. It tries to take on so many sub stories that none of them actually succeed. I really want to like this story as it started out great and with a lot of excitement, but at this point I am considering if the 3rd season is worth starting on.
