We are introduced to the grocer, Jack Harry Teesedale who is wisely scared of Nora Batty.

Jack also puts on his football kit and shows his knobbly knees to Ivy in the cafe, she is not amused. Jack has teamed up with Howard for a charity football dribble although as Marina has set up a caravan offering refreshments to participants we can guess she will get together with Howard at some point.

Foggy also decides Compo and Clegg should do a football dribble but he keeps getting the ball kicked in his goolies.

A mildly amusing episode, it is not often writer Roy Clarke features football which is after all the national game. Eli makes an appearance mistaking a sheep for a dog that he was taking out for a walk.

Pearl makes a comment that she once threatened to leave Howard and he broke down and started to immediately pack her bags. If only I had known I would had come round to help him.
