Judge Kelley is a good fellow, but is addicted to drinking to excess. He is removed from the bench in consequence. A few years later the Kelley family is living in reduced circumstances. Myra secures a position as reporter on the "Times." Judge Kelley promises his wife and daughter never to take another drop of "booze." Myra is seated at her desk in the "Times" office when Marvin receives a telephone message from the desk sergeant at a police station that there is material for a good story down there. He is buried with work and irritated. He goes to the reporters' room and finds Myra the only occupant. He orders her to go to the police station and get the story.
