The happy couple tie the knot and agree to spend the next few months in Manchester, allowing Adam to build bridges with Matthew, though their friends are less than happy with David facing job insecurity and Jenny and Pete bored with their work and their sex life. Jenny embarks on a fling with married Trevor but, after Adam has called her, rushes to console a depressed Pete, who, ironically, has persuaded suicidal pensioner Harry that life still has its pleasures. David attends a function given by Eddie to further his business opportunities, and with Robyn unable to accompany him, takes Karen. The meeting proves beneficial for David and Adam and Eddie is very impressed by Karen. However when she returns home she gets a surprise courtesy of daughter Ellie and Matthew.
