A loner, Samson Levi arrives in New Jersey from Florida to try and escape his troubled past including a recent divorce and separation from his son. His desire to fall under the radar, however, takes a dramatic turn when he's involved in a high-profile car accident bringing his name to the forefront of every news station. Through the help of doctors at River Terrace Medical, Samson survives but is left with numerous physical scarring. The medical staff each have their own prerogatives and their loyalties will be challenged by unexpected characters while treating Samson. Samson must now face the modern world with a new physical identity and the outpouring of unorthodox characters who are each dealing with their own physical and internal scar or Cicatrix.
