Short summary

Haani is a romantic saga spanning two different generations of a family. It tells the story of love, friendship and honor immortalized by commitment. The film simultaneously narrates 2 plots. Ranjit (Harbhajan) and Jagga (Sarabjit) are best friends in 1964 where Ranjit falls for Sukhaan (Mahreen) and loves her to death. Other plot involves Harman (Anuj) and Preet's (Sonia) love story in 2013 and Tony (Rupan Bal) who has similar role to Jagga in the movie. Somehow fate connects these love stories together.

Haani is a Master Stroke by Mann group (Harbhajan and Babu Singh). It is an Epic, Masterpiece Love story. It is a must watch movie. Don't read paid review of critic for different comedy movies. Those movies stand no where to this movie. Harbhajan Mann is of Aamir khan caliber in Punjabi industry except comedy. So comedy is added by Rupan Bal. Rupan Bal delivered to the levels of Binnu, Sharma and Bhalla. So this movie is a pure entertainment. Actor to watch - Harbhajan Mann, Anuj, Rupan as comedian, Mehreen in first half and Sardar Sohi. Rupan and Mehreen surprised with there acting skills. Other actors did good job too. Thanks for helping Punjabi cinema by making this wonderful movie.

The movie Haani touches the subject of love in a different way, than has been done before. It is refreshingly different than the run off the mill no-brainer comedy movies that Punjabi fans are used to.Though a similar story has been used by Harbhajan Maan in the past but this time the treatment met out is wonderful. The concept has been handled very well and Maan himself has acted brilliantly. Both the love stories get good screen time and the viewer is left wanting for more. A truly must watch Punjabi film and one of the best all time ever. The locations, direction and cinematography are top class and it rivals top quality Bollywood movies. The only problem I felt was that Mehreen Kaleka was not able to do justice to the role of a 70s someone. She looked out of place in that role however her acting was pretty good. But the standout performance was that of Harbhajan Maan. His look and feel of that of old Punjab will definitely win viewers hearts. Don't miss out this one, especially if you yearn for the times gone by and love stories are your thing.
