Short summary

Elaine's floozy former ex-roommate Sue Ellen Mischkie returns. George locks his keys in his car and leaves it in the Yankees parking lot. Elaine, out of spite, buys Sue Ellen a bra for a birthday gift as she has never worn one. George, having successfully convinced Wilhelm and Steinbrenner that he's putting in extra hours, decides to skip town with Susan after learning that her father rebuilt the cabin. So George asks Kramer and Jerry to go to Yankee Stadium and take the fliers off of his car. The car is really dirty, and Jerry and Kramer decide to go take it to the car wash. But along the way, they see Sue Ellen wearing the bra as a top. Jerry and Kramer get distracted and crash George's car. They return the damaged car back to Yankee Stadium. Steinbrenner, having seen the damage, and with George nowhere in sight, thinks George is dead. Kramer injures his arm in the accident, and his golf game is ruined. Elaine decides that Sue Ellen is a menace to society, and Kramer hires ...

Brenda Strong plays Sue Ellen Mischke in this episode. Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) being a Superman fan refers to her as being Elaine's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) Lex Luthor. Brenda Strong went on to appear on the show Supergirl (2015) as Lillian Luthor, Lex Luthor's mother.

Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) tells George (Jason Alexander) that he can see why the Yankees have not won a pennant in 15 years. The Yankees would go on to win the pennant in 1996, the same year this episode aired.

Phil Morris' portrayal of Jackie Chiles was based on lawyer Johnnie L. Cochran Jr.. Cochran was a huge fan initially, but after Morris began doing commercials in character as Jackie Chiles, Cochran began to worry it was harming his career & image and requested he stop. Of course Cochran was later found guilty of beating his wife and represented O.J. Simpson on his double murder trial.

Phil Morris planned to star in a spin-off as Jackie Chiles, but the project was called off.

The name of the boyfriend Elaine says Sue Ellen (Brenda Strong) stole from her in high school is Tom Cosley. Tom Cosley was the name of a guy Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) actually went out with in high school.

When in the court room, Jackie's (Phil Morris) comment to Sue Ellen (Brenda Strong) that a bra has to "fit like a glove" is a reference to the trial of O.J. Simpson.

In reality, the photograph of Jackie's (Phil Morris) "daughter" is Brandy Norwood.

The bra Sue Ellen (Brenda Strong) is asked to try on in the court room is said to be the same one that Kramer (Michael Richards) saw her in. When she tries it on however, it is a very different to the bra she wore earlier in the episode.

After Kramer (Michael Richards) mentions Oh Henry candy bars to Jackie (Phil Morris), Jackie incorrectly states they contain "chocolate, peanuts, and nougat." The bars do contain chocolate and peanuts as well as fudge and caramel, but no nougat.

Tom Cosley is the boy who was led away from Elaine to Sue Ellen. Tom Cosley is the name of a former boyfriend of Julia Louis-Dreyfus who, despite not having spoken in years, suddenly got in touch with her. The actor who played Tom in the episode is Jeff Bye, Seinfeld's production coordinator who also warmed up the studio audiences during taping days in seasons eight and nine.

Brenda Strong plays Sue Ellen in this episode. She originally auditioned for the role of Wendy in episode 6.16, Seinfeld: The Kiss Hello (1995), but lost out to Wendie Malick.

Kramer (Michael Richards) and Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) pull out of the car wash which is on Broadway and East Houston Street in Manhattan, (now demolished), and then immediately crash the car at Court Street and Baltic Street in Brooklyn. These two location are 5 miles away from each other. It makes no sense. Also, if they were heading back to the Bronx and Yankee Stadium there is no way Jerry and Kramer would be driving in Brooklyn.

Later the same year, Phil Morris (Jackie Chiles) & Armin Shimerman (Stan) both appeared in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) episode Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places (1996).

Michael Richards (Kramer) & Phil Morris (Jackie Chiles) previously worked together on Marblehead Manor (1987).

The character named "Sue Ellen" is a play on the episode basis that they are trying to "sue" sue Ellen mishkey!

Another highlight from Season 7, this episodes shines with enjoyment. It's got to be one of the most entertaining and fast-paced episodes of the season. There's so much going on and everything is on the same level of quality.

We got two main stories. On one hand, we got George's storyline which is incredibly dense compared to previous episodes. Because he locked the car with the keys in it, Mr. Wilhem thinks that he's putting in extra hours. That's a killer idea right there. Also, I love that George decides to take a few days off to the cabin with Susan. It's like a momentary lapse of time in which he's happy with the relationship. The other story is Elaine and her "Lex Luthor", Sue Ellen Mishky. This character is so insane and yet so plausible that it lends itself for numerous gags. Jerry and Kramer tie this story with George's by crashing George's car at the sight of Sue Ellen using a bra as a top. So then they decide to sue her and we get a more that welcome reappearance from the great Jackie Chiles.

The episode flows smoothly from one storyline to the other, it has a perfect pace, a good chunk of excellent supporting characters and a little, yet important advance in the season's arc.

In "The Caddy", George is up for a promotion because his bosses mistakenly believe he's working hard since his car is constantly in the parking lot, even when he's not there. George takes a mid-week vacation to his in-laws' cabin and asks Jerry to take the fliers off of the car while he's gone. Elaine runs into her old friend Sue Ellen who never wears a bra. As a gag, Elaine buys her one as a gift. But this becomes problematic when Sue Ellen starts wearing it around town as a top. Kramer gets serious about golf with the help of his buddy Stan the Caddy in the hopes of someday making the Senior tour. But these dreams are dashed when, while going to get George's car washed, Kramer crashes the car while he's gawking at Sue Ellen walking down the street.

Kramer and Jerry park George's battered car back at Yankee Stadium to keep up the appearance that George is there. The organization sees the wrecked car and blood on the seat and assume he's died. They inform his parents and pass him up for promotion in the process. Elaine convinces Kramer to sue Sue Ellen; he hires Jackie Chiles. The case is going smoothly in court until Stan convinces Kramer to ask Sue Ellen to try on the bra (a parody of the OJ gloves scene). It doesn't fit and they lose the case. George heads back to work pretending to have been seriously injured.

I don't think there's a bad episode of Seinfeld involving Jackie. He brings so much energy to his scenes and is a great counterpoint to Kramer's character and mannerism. Love it.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but Jerry's character and subplots seem to be taking a backseat this season. The focal points have really become the other 3 cast members. Maybe they've realized that Jerry's not the strongest actor of the bunch and might be better served as more of a secondary character.
