Short summary
Ellos Sápmi is the story of a charismatic womanizer who is deprived of his leadership and betrayed by his own people. Sex and bombs spice up this rebellious comedy about what really happened when the first Sámi Parliament was formed in Norway. Ellos Sápmi is a modern depiction of a historical event, and loosely based on a real-life story.
All characters in this short are based on actual characters, some of them still alive. The main characters have fictive names, except for Niillas who is based on the co-writer Niillas Aslaksen Somby. Even the Hippie-character is real, based on a undercover-cop who flirted and bonded with the sámi activists during the demonstrations south of Alta, Norway, in 1979-1981.
