Short summary

A contemporary, smart investigative drama in which the lowly back-room office staff join forces to fight for justice in a corrupt corporate world. This will involve bending of office etiquette, somewhat... Jane is a humble office temp who takes on a new post at an inner city law firm and soon realises she's not just filling in for a secretary with the flu- she's sitting in a dead woman's chair. The deceased woman is Rose whose best friend Linda is convinced that she was murdered, despite police reports to the contrary. Linda quickly enlists Jane in her quest to find the truth and together they recruit the IT guy and the lady from payroll and form the Society of the Blue Rose. With some help from others on the apparently lowlier rungs in the office- our heroes fight high stakes crimes and shadowy corporate skulduggery to uncover the truth about Rose. They are united in purpose- and tattoos- to see out further injustices. But proving guilt is always harder than suspecting it......

Antonia Prebble (Jane March) and Siobhan Marshall (Linda Frame) also worked together on Outrageous Fortune (2005) as Loretta & Pascalle respectively.

I watched the entire series and found it quite enjoyable. Yes, there's a few times where you have to suspend disbelief but the story pace and mystery keeps you watching. I found one unanswered plot element but I may need to rewatch to see if I missed it. The characters were great overall. Some were not given enough depth but I think that was on purpose and it did not keep me from enjoying the series. It's a mix of caper-whodunnit with some comedic elements and female heroics.

I found this show on amazon prime. I started to watch it and nearly gave up after the first episode, then when the story line of the series started to be explained I started to look forward to watching it. I find the characters fun to watch although some of them are over the top. I hope amazon adds more seasons as they be ome available.

It's hard for me to remember anything except Antonia Prebble's face. She sums up the past and present with a pursed lip and a turned cheek.

The most enjoyable episodes were the ones where the focus was not on the girl who had died, but where they were trying to help someone solve their problem. Reminded me of my favorite episodes of Burn Notice, without the comic edge. I liked the characters, but they didn't have a ton of depth. Very serious all the time. Overall plot felt too predictable.

I came across this on Acorn TV and started to watch it. I could only manage to make it to episode 3 before I gave up. It's a "Thelma and Louise" makeover, with two mismatched female characters playing the leads. The plot is very complicated, and requires long explanations to fully explain what is happening, as well as the roles of all who are involved. Some of the characters just seem to be in the plot to fill spaces but their roles in the plot are never really developed. The characters are two dimensional, flat, and just not funny. I guess this was produced for the local sitcom market in New Zealand but I doubt it would be appealing to a wider, more global audience.

The plot is weak, the acting is mediocre, and the writing is terrible. Enough said.
