This movie was terrible. We rented it because it looked cute. We recognized the boys from Zack and Cody, a show my kids have enjoyed for years. We were really shocked by how inappropriate this movie was for little kids. It is full of sexual innuendos. It is the little kids using the foul language and showing age inappropriate behavior regarding women. This movie is not for kids under 10. The characters in it are a bad role model for kids over 10!! There are so many good sports movies for kids. All the Sandlot movies. The Angels in the outfield. There are tons of them out there... without 9 year old saying P***ed or drooling over a woman's cleavage!

Oh my god, this movie is NOT recommendable!

The story is pretty old and always the same: "make a good team out of a bad team". Thats it!

Its just for Sprouse Fans, I mean if you really like this two cute guys its nice, but that's it! You better watch Little Giants, with Rick Moranis. Its funnier and the plot doesn't seem that drained...

I've seen corny and cutesy movies before, but I usually have no problem avoiding them. This only caught my eye because I recognized the Sprouse boys and I saw it had Tom Arnald in it and thought it would be funny. After watching it I wished I never picked it up. It was more stupid that "The Stupids" I usually enjoy Arnold's comedy, but he was hardly funny and barely in the movie. If I had just wanted to see a sports movie just for the kids I would have rented The Sandlot. Now that's a quality movie. James Earl Jones(a great actor) is in that movie, but it holds itself up as a great movie regardless. Anybody who heard Jones was in the film and then went to see it was most likely not bored and wondering where he was until the ending. Arnold disappeared soon after "Just For Kicks" begins and only turns up again in the last scene. Some Tom Arnold, Cute little kids, very, very attractive ladies. this movie gets a 2 for being stupid, but clean. If it was stupid and dirty I wouldn't even give it that

At best, this is a decent movie. I checked it out simply because Cole and Dylan were on the cover and I liked "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause" and "Big Daddy". In this movie, though, they were fed unbelievable lines and the acting sounded forced. Some of it sounded laughable. I actually LAUGHED when Cole went "Oh, Dyl!" to get him to shut up.

Not to mention,it was so predictable! It was known from the first few moments that Dylan and Cole's team would win. The greasy grimy guy (rudy) was obviously George Patrick Owens.

Was there humor? Yes...Some of it not acceptable for the age group (I've never heard an eight or nine-year-old say p***ed and use it correctly, let alone convincingly).

The wardrobe...The one with the glasses (I think Dylan). His wardrobe was HORRIBLE for the most part. Were they playing it along with his role as the "geek"? I didn't even realize he was suppose to be a geek until he said it.

Oh well.

Will the kids enjoy it? yeah. I even got a few "kicks" out of it...But it's nothing amazing.

What an utter disappointment! Lots and lots of bathroom humour to the point of becoming sickening. Is this really what 8 or 9 year-olds speak like?

And what's up with this "cheerleading" aunt who can't seem to find proper clothing to wear? The soccer team is constantly gawking at her body.

This movie gets no marks from me. It tries to find humour through bad jokes and rude comments. Parenting magazine rated it as a good family film -- shame on them!

Are you kidding me? How did this get so many good ratings? When Tom Arnold is the best actor in your movie you know you have a problem. The acting was poor the outcome was obvious. Don't bother wasting time on this one. Lots of crude kid humor that was not necessary or funny and musical montages that had repeated scenes and could have been left out for a much shorter movie.

Sorry but the twins could not have been more annoying. Was there some reason this mother never knew where her kids were and didn't seem to care?

Sydney J. Bartholomew Jr. should never be allowed to make another film again. How come people are giving budgets to people to make bad films when there are plenty of creative talented directors out there struggling to make their first feature?!

The only reason to buy/rent this film is if you think the Sprouse twins are too cute to pass on. Yes they are, and they don't disappoint here either. But trust me when I tell you, that is the only reason (and one other I'll mention in a moment)

The scenes are shabbily put together (everything looks rushed). They even used stills taken from the footage for coverage (UGH!). The music is crude with dialogue to match (this is little kid's entertainment?!)

A good director would have noticed Cole mouthing Dylan's lines in a number of the scenes and given him some coaching. If he didn't pick this up on set, it definitely should have been spotted in the dailies? Their double-takes in the scene with Cobi Jones' cameo were unbearable to watch. If I'd have been on set... Well, never mind! Two ADs too! Didn't they have a creative brain cell between them?

One little gem I spotted in all of this mess was a young actor, Tyler Hervey. Look out for him if you watch this movie. Character is "Mikey" and he plays an angry cop's kid. Got wonderful on-screen presence and would be wonderful to see him in a major role.

This movie wasn't the best, but it wasn't the absolute worst either. Sure it was cheesy and predictable, (I knew from the moment they mentioned that their soccer team was in trouble that this very team would end up winning), but it wasn't supposed to be too complicated. It's the younger kids that will get more from this. The twins in this movie were adorable and hilarious, but I think that they used language that not many kids their age (7 or 8) would actually use. It was funny nonetheless. The only things I didn't like were these:

-The mom didn't seem to care at all where her sons were. They were at some creepy stranger's home and she really didn't seem to care. That just bothered me.

-The aunt....*shudders*. That was just nasty...she wore the most revealing clothes and all the little boys were staring at her practically drooling...it was just wrong. The creepiest part was when that one boy says "There's nothing little about her" and makes that creepy gesture with his hands...yikes.

-The romance between Rudy and Aunt Louise in the end seemed a little dumb. Why was it even neeeded? I didn't get it. Louise thought he was a dirty, greasy creep for the whole movie, minus the last 5 minutes or so, and then all of a sudden at the end they're smiling and kissing in front of everyone. I just didn't get it.

This movie was okay. Enjoyable, cheesy humor, and fun. It had extremely bad acting and the Sprouse twins did a lousy job. i watch it if its on TV just to see them make a fool out of themselves.

this movie had 2 or 3 good jokes, those not intended for small children. the young twins used words such a jackasses and skid mark undies.

overall this movie deserve a 5/10 because i enjoyed the stupidness. if you want to entertain your kids, try out this movies, but i recommend a different soccer flick that is better than this one. it has a few good laughs and a predictable plot.

not the best movie.

I had no idea who Dylan and Cole Sprouse were and after seeing this film, I was surprised to learn that they had a career in film--both before AND after this terrible movie. They are apparently the boys who star as Zack and Cody from "The Suite Life"--a show for kids that I'd have no particular reason to watch. As I said, this surprised me, as the boys appeared to have absolutely no discernible talent--other than being twins. Here in this film, they had difficulty delivering their lines convincingly, though you really can't blame them--they're just kids who have parents who've pushed them into the limelight. Too bad...I'd much rather see midgets or really immature adults play such roles, as at least they have the ability to say yes or no about a career in films or TV! You just have to feel sorry for kids who are prepackaged and pushed into these lives.

As for the film, "Just for Kicks" is kind of what you'd expect...just a bit worse. The writing is very, very broad and wouldn't even make for a by r made for TV kids film on Nickelodeon of the Disney Channel. And, with the Sprouses and Tom Arnold, you can't exactly expect a work of genius...or even adequacy. In fact, the film is so dopey that its current IMDb score is under 2.0. If the film ever receives 1500 or more votes, this would clearly place the film on the Bottom 100 list on IMDb!

The film begins with the insufferably cute twins acting insufferably cute. They apparently live to play soccer and their dad (Tom Arnold) encourages them by agreeing to be their coach. However, when he's called away on some national security case (he's supposed to be like a ninja or elite power ranger sort of guy--yeah, right!), their stupid mother is left to coach the team. She stinks, so the boys find a greasy hobo, Rudy, with amazing soccer skills to coach the team (that's exactly what I did when my baseball coach disappeared when I was a kid--and we then went on to win the world championship...really!).

And, speaking of the greasy hobo, he and the people in this film are all very silly stereotypes--not realistic by any standard. The mom is totally inept as a coach, the father who is a cop is a drill sergeant who insists his young son MUST be an NFL player, Tom Arnold is a secret agent, the mother's sister is a horny hottie who talks about clothes, the hit-men who don't even bother trying to hide their guns, etc.. None of them seem to have any depth and are cartoony--even by kids' movie standards. As a result of this bad writing and questionable acting, the film is a chore to watch and I assume most kids would also balk at having to sit through this flick. How it even got made in the first place is beyond me.

And, speaking of the greasy hobo (Bill Dawes), he is simply terrible in the film. While the Sprouses are bad, they are just little boys. As for Dawes, he does the worse accents in film history and is given the most horrible role to play. You can feel a bit sorry for him as well--the film is practically a career killer--the film is THAT bad. In fact, it's dumb and not particularly interesting--and those are the best things I can say about it.

By the way, I am no geneticist, but I have a question that seems reasonable. If these two brats are identical, why does one need glasses and the other does not? I'm just thinking that unless one had some sort of eye injury they'd have the same vision...isn't that true? So I assume the only reason one had glasses was to let the audience know which one is which.

Stupid movie! Bad acting.

Must have an IQ level below 20 to enjoy this movie! This movie was boring and tasteless.

It comes across as a movie about boys playing soccer, and the acting and side concepts really distract from what could have been a good movie script.

Sexual innuendo in the movie were not funny and were poorly done. Doesn't hold much of an appeal for anyone under 15, and isn't appropriate for anyone under the age of 12.

So if you are between ages of 12-15 use this as a starter movie that nobody cares to watch, because to watch it nobody should care about being entertained.

I saw a film called "evenhand" and was intrigued by the lead actor, so I rented "just for kicks" to see his other work. I watched it with my grandson. He loved it and demanded that this father sign him up for soccer next season. He then walked around doing imitations of his new hero, Rudy, played by Bill Dawes (the same lead actor in "evenhand.") I had to buy the DVD for him -- that's how much he loves it. Yes, it's not for parents, but the 7 and under crowd should love it!

i find the Sprouse boys charming even though the acting sometime sub par. anyhow the did just all right in this. the movie was cute but predictable. but the problems i had was with the way the aunt and the way the boys on the team talked. also why did the director not notice Cole was mouthing Dylan's lines thru almost the whole movie. if you are a Sprouse fan or have kids see this other wise i would say no. also if you do have kids be warned that this i almost a pg 13 level movie. i there was a rating called pg 11 this would get it. Overll i did enjoy this it is the kind of movie you watch we you got nothing else to do. some other reviews here act like it the worse movie ever but it is not.

There are not enough films about football or as americans call it SOCCER! This was great and I have been waiting ages for it to come out. Cole and Dylan are great and it was great to see them together in a movie. This is a must see for all the family!

If you like soccer "Just for Kicks" will make you laugh. Dylan and Cole (Zack & Cody of "Suite Life") the twin brothers who like to play soccer with their best friends, Eduardo (Michael Peter Paredes)and Sal (Wes Singerman) make a good team together. They like getting into mischief and being too smart for their own good. All four are not afraid of the bullies from the opposing teams. But, what's up with the sounds Eduardo is known for? What a laugh! Looks like Eduardo is a Raider football fan and Sal is a greaser fan. Glad too see the Terriers team come from behind to win the game. Sure hope Cole has learned his lesson about the use of hands in the game of soccer.

Yet another light hearted yet enjoyable movie featuring Dylan & Cole Sprouse, I only ordered this DVD because they were in it, and found this to be of a smilar theme to "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus" in that it's very easy viewing with out demanding too much from the audience, Just for Kicks is a good laugh helped along by some very funny diaglog from the kid's, some of the dry sarcasm had me in stitches, the story was maybe a bit thin and made up of the usual regular stuff, down with the bad guy's and good wins at the end etc but with the world being such a cruel place nowadays I like a movie to be fantasy with a happy ending, and not demand too much of me as a veiwer. I'm possibly one of the U.K's few Sprouse fans and like the guy's in all the movies I have seen them in, they were as cute as ever in this. It's a shame that few of their movies are released here in the U.K, the only one I think is Big Daddy so I have to import DVD's to see them in action. But it's worth it, good to see them both on screen at once playing together, they came over well through out. 10/10 for this one.

I just finished watching the movie. I thought the twins were adorable. This movie is definitely NOT PG. I'd have to say this movie is a movie that kids should skip and teens and adults should watch. I loved it. There is definitely some crude humor that you wouldn't expect from a 9 year old. But in my opinion, a must see. The best acting in the movie would have to be the twins, especially Dylan. They both portray their characters really well. I can see the resemblance from their characters from TSL. Although, I did find it odd that their mother was never worried how her children were missing or even worried about where they were. Overall, great movie.

"Just for Kicks" may not be the most consistent, but the film has some great moments. The twins, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, are adorable, and Bill Dawes is brilliant in the role of the enigmatic soccer coach. The film definitely picks up momentum after a slow start and had my two young sons in suspense and in stitches. In addition, I found myself laughing out loud a few times. It may be a bit too mature for the really young, but this "PG" rated film is actually a good-natured "G" family film in disguise.

whoever says this movie is stupid then they are blind and death cause if you love the Sprouse twins then you'll love this its funny its full of family packed fun and the cutest twins ever so get the family make food sit sown and you'll be laughing until you die is so funny and it gets you right heart you'll love it so much you'll watch it over and over again its so funny and cute and I could talk about it forever my favorite part is when they win the game but the saddest part is when Dylan gets hit in the face and his glasses break and he is bleeding from his eyes and no one come over to help him I was like what the there is a six years old kid sitting on the ground bleeding from his eyes and no one is helping him but other then that I loved it
