Short summary

Eight year old Bobby is a strange boy. Between spying on his teenage sister's sexual exploits and peeping at his prostitute mother in the nude, Bobby loves to watch the midnight horror shows. But when the host of Bobby's favorite show begins speaking to him directly, and the people in his life dreadfully appear to him on television, the lines of reality and fiction begin to blur.

"The Black Box" was spawned after a lengthy discussion between the filmmakers about why there aren't more anthology films in existence. Over time, this discussion eventually spawned "The Black Box".

"Mister Video" is based on a real incident experienced by the writer's brother at a video store in the late 1980s, where a crazed customer would not stop harassing the store employee until he found the video the customer was looking for.

"Freddie and the Goblins" was shot entirely on location at a house in Winnetka, CA, the same house that The Morning After (2010) was shot in.

In the segment "Freddie and the Goblins", Freddie's axe is named "Sally". It was named such by Zack Fahey, the actor playing Freddie, who felt he needed a "more human" connection to his main prop.

The segment 'Mister Video' was shot at one of the last independently owned and operated video stores to feature mostly VHS movies on its shelves in the United States. Spudic's Video Empire was recommended by one of the producers as a great place that was shoot-friendly. When director Jonathan Lewis saw the shelves lined with VHS, he immediately knew this was where he had to shoot. Sadly, as of October 31st, 2010, Spudic's Video Empire has closed its doors forever, its owner/operator Eric Spudic returning full time to his career as a writer/actor.
