*Spoiler/plot- TNOT Jack O'Diamonds, 1967, The agents must recover a valuable American presidential four-legged gift from a crafty El Sordo bandit to give to Mexico's President Juarez.

*Special Stars- Robert Conrad, Ross Martin, Frank Silvera, Mario Alcalde

*Theme- Good neighbor's border relations are important to countries as well as among people.

*Trivia/location/goofs- Original air date: 10-6-67. Plot location takes place in a border town between Mexico and the USA and surrounding desert areas. It's painfully obvious that El Sordo's stunt double doesn't match Frank Silvera in his role's beardedness. Extras leaving the hotel lobby are not careful enough to cast clear shadows on the canvas scenic backdrop. When Agent west is lowered from a grappling hook device over the outlaw camp, you can clearly see the thin wire safety lines attachment to his waist. All sloppy production work. Vazquez Rocks in Acton CA was the area of the bandit's camp.

*Emotion- Many desert locations and the wide-angle camera shots make this more of a Western saga than other studio 'locked' episodes. The show is visually special and refreshing. Essentially a chase episode but made very fun & interesting based on Frank Silvera huge acting talents & his role of El Sordo. The Mexican Captain's character is forgettable. But, Mr. Martin's many undercover characters make this episode entertaining.

The gadgets are few in this episode, as are the mad scientists and steampunk elements that the series is noted for. In its place are strong characters, beautiful western scenery, and a good, if simple, storyline. Admittedly, the sci-fi aspects of the show are what make it a Wild Wild West such a remarkable show, but this episode is a nice, and effective, change of pace.
