The future as portrayed in this offering is one where selfish people reside in skyscraper apartment buildings where their every need is seen to. Each floor has the same holographic desk man named George who can do nothing but sit and give orders. A woman dies of a heart attack because she can't reach her nitroglycerin tablets. George, being a non corporeal entity, can't do anything but make calls to 911. When the power goes out, a man who generally gives orders to his refrigerator and his cabinets can't get out of his apartment. After knocking a hole in the wall, he joins forces with two unwilling women to try to get help. They are in constant danger from security forces (floating orbs that fire at them). The elevators don't work properly and a series of close calls begin to draw the three closer. They are soon joined by a recalcitrant young man who seems to have a knowledge of computers and technology. While he is hard to get along with, he does give them possibilities outside their selfish little realms. There is a lesson here and we need to wait till the end. It takes a while to accept these people and care about them, but as they make their way down, floor by floor, we want to know what they will ultimately find.
