Spooks Episode #10.2 (2002–2011) watch online HD

I really enjoyed the previous episode. What a let-down this one was. The story depends on a stolen MI5 laptop. But WHY was Calum wandering about the streets, with no escort or other precautions, carrying a laptop full of secrets? This is a show in which, as we constantly see, everything is transferable in a split-second over the net. As a plot device, it is feeble, to say the least.

A few days later, that same Calum just happens to be walking along the street late one night when his colleague Tariq emerges half-dead from a cab (without paying) and collapses on the pavement in front of him.

And what's going on with the Russian accents? Of all the Russian characters, Sasha has the thickest one. He talks to his Russian Mum (in English, strangely enough), but she has only a very mild one.

Spooks has always had plot holes and overblown stories. It's a comic book show. Fair enough. But this was sloppy of the BBC. Faced with the huge popularity of Downton Abbey (scheduled at the same time on ITV1), did they stop trying? Did they think "Last series. Let's just get it over with?"

I have to agree with the reviewer who 'lost the plot'. The show begins with Calum and Tariq encrypting all sorts of personnel files on a laptop then sealing it shut, etc. Next scene is Calum getting mugged by three dudes and he loses the suitcase with the laptop! Really? Then the secret agent files start getting released to the public with expected results. I would be very concerned for my country's sake if these were the guys protecting us.

I also agree with the Russian accents...they get a tad bit annoying. The English speaking is just to make it easier on us, I believe.

Other than the plot being absolutely ridiculous, the acting as usual is superb and the show is otherwise very enjoyable. I just can't get past the opening scenes!!!!

I disagree. I thought this episode was superb. It was taut, exciting, and never lost pace. Yes, the technology may not be used in exactly the correct way, yes, there may be the occasional unlikely coincidence. But quite frankly I was too enthralled by the developing story to notice those. Very clever writing to pick up on and quietly poke fun at both the recent spate of lost laptops/forgotten classified documents and the publication of secret government information by Wikileaks. There were touches of humour and superb acting. I speak Russian, and while the Russian accents might not be perfect, they're acceptable to me. Would it really convey anything more if half the programme had to be watched by most of the audience on subtitles? I am warming to Callum, whose sarky comments remind me of Ros Myers; my only problem so far with this series is Lara Pulver, whose casting I feel to have been a mistake. She's trying hard - perhaps too much - but she's on screen with giants, and seems to me to be having a lot of trouble holding her own. But for me, at least, that didn't spoil a riveting episode and a shocking twist at the end that I completely failed to anticipate.
