Trailers "9-1-1 "

After two episodes aired, Fox renewed 9-1-1 (2018) for a second season, announced on January 16, 2018.

One episode begins with a wedding party that ended in a catastrophic building collapse where the floor gave out under the weight of all of the party goers. This is based on an actual event that occurred in Israel where 24 people lost their lives as a result of a floor giving out due to poor or improper building materials used during construction.

Oliver Stark was considering quitting acting and becoming a firefighter before getting cast as one on 9-1-1 (2018).

Both Angela Bassett and Aisha Hinds have portrayed Voletta Wallace, the mother of The Notorious B.I.G.: Bassett in the film Notorious (2009) and Hinds in the limited series Unsolved (2018).

Rockmond Dunbar and Kenneth Choi appeared on Sons of Anarchy (2008) together. Dunbar played the new Sheriff in Charming and Choi played Chinese gangster Henry Lin.

Angela Bassett and Connie Britton both appeared on Ameerika õudukas (2011).

Athena Grant's badge number is 1275, a reference to I-275, the freeway that runs through Angela Bassett's hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Grant's unit number is 727-L-30; 727 is St. Petersburg's telephone area code.

Oliver Stark confirmed via Twitter on January 31, 2018, that despite being ordered for a 13-episode first season, 9-1-1 (2018)'s season one will have only 10 episodes.

Connie Britton and Kenneth Choi both appeared in American Crime Story (2016): The People v. O.J. Simpson with Courtney B. Vance, who is married to 9-1-1 (2018) co-star Angela Bassett.

In episode two, Hen invites Athena to the fire station and tells the crew that she has family issues and needs some TLC (Tender Loving Care). In the same episode, TLC's No scrubs can be listened to while Athena drives her patrol. Another time, Athena tells Buck not to go chasing Waterfalls, a clear reference to TLC's Waterfalls.

First broadcast on italian TV will be on January 9th 2019 (9-1-19), a palindrome of 9-1-1.

Because I think it's one of the best new shows this season. Instead of preaching politics or politically correct nonsense, we who are the silent nobodies who work, raise families and are generally too busy to cause social unrest are relieved to have an entertaining heartfelt show like they used to have in the 90s before every person with a "cause" took over television shows where each episode is a PSA against drugs, racial profiling, women's rights, immigration issues, political infighting or some other minority cause Hollywood gloms onto. This new show is simply entertaining with heartfelt POSITIVE stories about successful rescues and some sad stories that bring tears to my eyes when they are not so successful. Great cast, wonderful stories with hope and sadness, good stories that entertain, not preach. What a relief!

I love this show. It is full of honest emotions, honorable people who work hard to bring about positive outcomes in hazardous situations. It's not political, relevant to current social issues, ripped from headlines stories that we already are saturated with. Instead, it inspires real hope, real emotions, and good uncomplicated entertainment. Thank God we finally have a show where we can watch and just root for the good guys again. You haters? Just about every other show is for you. Even Blue Bloods recently reminded me of a commercial against discrimination of (fill in the blanks). Most of us just want a feel good show that we can enjoy without the daily news cycle flying in our faces. Three cheers to 9-1-1 for bringing back real immersive entertainment!

Nine stars for making great stories that often bring tears to my eyes. The rest of you haters - just watch the news! You'll get all the kind of entertainment there you want! 9-1-1 keep bringing us the wonderful heartfelt entertainment us average, nobodies are craving!!! Thank you! Please renew this show!

Everyone says that this show is horrible. It is a TV show, not a reality show. Of course things happen in the show that would never happen in real life. That is what TV is. This show is not a documentary. I personally like the show and wait for it every week. Other people may not share this view, but that I my personal take on it.

There are so many people on here complaining that this show isn't realistic. It's a TV drama, not a reality show! Way too many people with expectations on a realistic drama, when, let's all be honest, these shows are NEVER realistic. If you want reality, look elsewhere.

I personally found this show to be intriguing, and intense. The previews were awesome, and the show did not disappoint. I always find the pilot episodes to be chalked full of introductions, and sometimes find pilots to not be as strong as the following episodes that's really allow the stories to shine. I got just enough intrigue to catch me in, but not spoil too much.

Peter Krause is the obvious star of the show, with a strong character and a backstory I can't wait to see more of. Angela Bassett was equally strong in her role as an LAPD officer. She's one of the best actresses out there and I'm super excited to see her in this bad ass role! Connie Britton is also great, but I wanted to see more from her. The rookie fireman was the weakest part for me, but there's potential for an incredible character arc if played right.

I say ignore the other viewers who are expecting a reality show, and take this for what a TV show is supposed to be. An escape from reality.

I've been a reserve law enforcement officer and a volunteer fire fighter, yet somehow I knew going into this show that I wasn't going to be presented with accurate interpretations of the work. Why? Because it's scripted television.

Do they get most of the tactical elements wrong? Yup. Are the situations these people put themselves into completely ridiculous? Yup. Are we supposed to care? Nope. It's scripted television.

Take any TV show about any specific line of work - law enforcement, Fire/EMS, attorneys, military, hospital/medical - and anyone who works in that field is going to shred the show. Why? Because it's scripted television. I was a professional broadcaster for the better part of 20 years and even though a lot of what happened on WKRP, NewsRadio, and The Newsroom was completely wrong, the shows were still entertaining.

If I were a full time cop, firefighter, or dispatcher, the last thing I'd want to watch when I get home is a dead-accurate TV show about what I just did for the last 12+ hours. 9-1-1 is unrealistic and sometimes very silly, but then again it was never meant to be anything but. It's entertainment, pure and simple, and if you go into this show with that in mind, you'll be far less ragey.

As a retired firefightee. I'm always hopeful when these type of shows come out. The calls they show may be real, but it's the other portions that portray the first responders in a negative light that reflects on us all. Really, I guy driving a truck code 3 and then having sex with a woman, grounds for termination, not a write up.

This is a TV show, pure escapism so I would advise leaving your first aid knowledge outside the door and just enjoy this series as is. I watched the pilot and at the end was a bit unsure if I liked it or not. It has it's moments. You need to watch the second episode as it is starting to get into it's stride, by episode three, I was hooked. Expect the unexpected and enjoy this roller coaster of awe and special effects and make up is pretty darn good. The acting in the pilot was not the greatest but definitely improves with each episode. Stick with it, I believe it has potential to win an award.

Straight off the bat it's not realistic, ideally everything the young fire fighter does is pretty stupid, but I think without him it was pretty entertaining IMO.

You cannot rate this show so poorly due to it not being "Realistic" show me where it says it's a documentary with a warning of distressing scenes. Cause there ain't any.

I quite enjoyed it kept me on edge on the last call, unless your heartless. Not the best pilot but this could become quite a good show when they find what does and doesn't work, a lot of shows have started badly and turned in to something very popular.

Who cares if it's not realistic you see enough of that on the news. We were entertained and would recommend as the story lines are imaginative and not the use dull dribble most shows seem to copy. Can't wait for next season.

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the need to combat all the 1's and 2's. I think those people watched the pilot and gave up. Yes, the pilot is a bit weak, and there are scenes that are a bit ridiculous, but I just watched the 4th episode and holy shit. Stick with it people, it gets better.

As a 911 dispatcher, We don't have time to listen from beginning to end on a call and concentrate on only one call. We have radio traffic, officers going on traffic stops, medical calls, and other non emergency calls all at once. Firefighters WILL NOT EVER take a rig like that for a "spin" much less code 3. They have way to much respect for what they do and worked way to hard to get there. LA EMS/PD have no time for shenanigans....

Three technical advisors on the show and they made the Fire/EMS look like dicks. What is a defibrillator? Didn't that go out with Emergency? Didn't they bring a monitor up with them? They could have found lubricant anywhere else besides the defibrillator bag. What was that guy doing with the cuff in the back of the ambulance? Start a task and complete it. Don't give an actor a piece of equipment and not show him how to use it. And running down the stairs with the baby, confronting the cop, etc. And the dude with the pick axe going to cut open the wall, seriously!! Crappy writing. I could only watch a few minutes. This show is a disgrace to all that work as first responders and the Technical Advisors, previous first responders, have failed. Remember Trauma? In the end this will be another show just relationships and who is screwing who, but hopefully the first responders may still keep their integrity.

I don't know how many episodes of this drivel are in the can, but they should stop immediately and cancel this show. I spent 17 years in the public safety dispatch field, working for 4 agencies in that time. This TV show is without a doubt the worst piece of garbage I have ever seen. The producers of this show owe every person in the public safety field an apology. Absolutely every scene was wrong or utterly stupid. No firefighter would ever take an engine out for a spin driving with lights and sirens to meet a woman to have sex. The amount of liability is incalculable. Angela Bassett handling calls alone and as a sergeant? Ridiculous. A 911 dispatcher able to stay on the phone for an unlimited amount of time, listening in or taking over a situation on the phone telling a criminal she can help him escape to save a little girl. I literally almost threw up.

Oh how I long for the days of Jack Webb and his productions of Adam 12, Dragnet and Emergency!. What the hell is going on in Hollywood these days? Do not waste your time watching this crap unless you have accidentally swallowed poison and need to vomit.

Though the drama did not potentially show the technical aspects of how EMS/Fire works yet (just a very brief walk-through), but it is entertaining enough to get you hook. For the first time, it shows the link between the operator, the police department, fire department and the ambulance works together for, not one, but three cases in one episode. Hope to see more shows like this coming up. If you are into looking for a show like "House MD", "the good doctor", then this show is not for you.

Completely unrealistic sceanrios. Really you're cutting a toilet baby out of the plumping , use the booger bulb thing and he's fine. And then after all that trauma you have one medic literally hand the baby over like a football to the faster medic so he can run down the stairs. Oh and make sure the ambulance warmed up. Why? They're in southern california. I could go on about how horrible the dialog is and how unrealistic the dispatch center looks. Just horrible.

Being in the field, I had such high hopes for this show. Honestly, I did. The build up really made me hopeful that Fox was going to create a show with some realism, to show what we really go through, what we really have to deal with. Instead, we get a probie who takes an in-service ladder truck on a hot run through the city in order to get laid, only to return to quarters and get a "talking to" from the station captain, and not arrested. I gave it 20 minutes, but honestly, I was so disappointed with this garbage I was ready to shut it off after 5 minutes. The baby in the sewage pipe finally pushed me over the edge. This show was a slap in the face to those of us in emergency services who do this job day in and day out. Please do us all a favor and cancel this train wreck.

I'm not expecting 100% realism from a TV show but they got practically nothing right about public safety. From the dispatcher, to the police to the fire department. They either didn't do research or didn't care about what they really researched. This show is a travesty. It'll be cancelled before the end of its first season... or should be.

I had high hopes that this show was going to give a voice to the public safety telecommunicator. Instead, it's completely awful, with situations and interactions that are not only incredible, but ridiculous. The producers and writers have done the real people behind 9-1-1 a disservice. Save this by rebooting with much, much more fact and research, even if it means firing all the current producers, directors, writers, and so-called technical advisors, and canning everything that's aired and in the chute for broadcast. Give the public safety telecommunicators their voice and let them show the public the hard work they really do, or pull the plug on this mess.

Good job making us look bad, Hollywood. Another unrealistic series with poor quality job research done on emergency tactics. Guess there will never be a decent show with real situations like John Gage and Roy Desoto experienced ever again.

With over 25 years in the fire and ems service, I have to say this is one of the most disappointing tv shows about the fire service I have ever seen. You have made a mockery of those of us who have proudly served our communities and worn the uniform. You have no idea what it is like to stare death in the face, you have no idea what it is truely like to have someone die in front of you, you have no idea what it is like to really save a life, you have no idea what it is like to watch a family as they are told their loved one or their child is DEAD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LOSE A BROTHER IN THE FIRE SERVICE OR LAW ENFORCEMENT!! To those who have watched this show, while we do have our interesting moments and calls, this is not how us REAL firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers live our lives and do our jobs, we do not run around in fire trucks with the lights and sirens on chasing women and/or men and have sex with them....this show was written and produced with very poor taste!! Only the emotion at then end was anywhere close to showing the true emotional bond that we have with one another...can't wait to see what what poor taste the next episode holds..this first episode totally offends me!!

The kid paramedic seemed like he wasn't even trained and the rest of the "team" can't seem to agree on any course of action. The sub-plots turned me off and the 911 operator seemed like a she was half asleep when answering calls. Waste of a time slot.

I was looking forward to this series for a few weeks now. Loved OJ and AHC, so this was a no brainer to be a hit, I could not have been more wrong. The story was bland and nonsensical, they lacked situational experts when writing the scenerios, and the dialog was horrendous. An hour of my life I will never get back.

After the first few dramatic scenes, this highly advertised series took a fatal turn to the ridiculous with the harebrained portrayal of a lone Fireman (who calls himself "Fire hose") chasing down a female in a Fire Truck with lights and sirens. Touted as a reality series, with a cast of recognizable actors, it quickly went from having potential to the likes of mindless slap stick. From this point on there was nothing left to do but turn it off. The plot summary "Explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations..", must have been written before production began.
