Short summary
12 year old Lily Bobbit moves to Medda, Ala, and immediately makes an impression on the residents when she and her friends team up to outsmart a con man, the town is changed forever.
In the summer of 1947, a mysterious thirteen-year-old girl, accompanied by her mute mother, seemingly appears from nowhere. When two thirteen-year-old boys fall deeply in love with her, they find themselves on a collision course with one another that could not only destroy their friendship, but take the tiny town of Medda, Alabama with them.

The song "I Have to Dream" that 'Lily Jane Bobbit' (Tania Raymonde) sings at the talent contest appears lipsynched, and is in fact credited as performed by Jennifer Newman Sharpe. During the closing credits, the same song is credited as "Being Performed By Celine Dion".
Children on Their Birthdays was based on the short story by Truman Capote.
Children on Their Birthdays won the Platinum Award for Independent Theatrical Feature Films - Family/Children at WorldFest Houston.
Although the setting for the film was in the fictional town of Medda, Alabama (1947) the film was actually shot in Aurora, Lemont and Chicago, Illinois.
