Short summary

The story of a young peasant girl who becomes separated from her family and village during the last day of the harvest. She sets off on an adventure in turn of the century Russia in search of her mother. She wanders lost through forests and fields encountering the Mushroom people and others who will help her find her way home. Her innocent love for her mother proves that she is wise beyond her years.

In keeping with the film's international nature, supporting roles were filled by actors representing Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Republic of Georgia, Bulgaria and The United States. Within the cast and crew of 60, 32 members were women, 13 children, and 8 disabled.

Due to lack of Russian Locations in California, Peter Polanco, Visual Effects Model Maker was hired to create wonderful miniatures of a 1890's Russian Village. Winner of the Thunderbird International Film Festival 2004 Karl Malden Award of Excellence.
