The film was released for public viewing on May 4, 2014 to coincide with the annual MS Walk held in Illinois.

The logo on Marcus's shirt during his confession is for The 42nd Street Drive-in, a podcast co-hosted by Shawn Hunt and director Christopher Kahler.

The entire semester was filmed in one day at Niles North High School. Only the open mic patrons scene was shot separately at The Four Treys Tavern without actor Andrew Jacob DeHart present. The film was edited within a week since director Christopher Kahler was leaving for Europe before the screening premiere.
