Professor Everett (Richard Long) learns that "controversial, crazy" Italian director Schiavoni (Cesar Romero, famed Cuban lover in musicals, "The Cisco Kid", and "The Joker" on "Batman") is in town. The professor met the jack-of-all-trades in Rome 15 years ago when he was a technical adviser on a picture Schiavoni was making about computers. The eccentric Italian's cab breaks down in front of the Everett home, where he decides to stay to get away from the intruding masses seeking his presence. At the dinner table Schiavoni is stricken with the gout, which he says can sideline him for weeks at a time. Nanny (Juliet Mills) tells the professor to bring a wheelchair, an allusion to "The Man Who Came to Dinner". When he invites friends over, Hal (David Doremus) and Butch (Trent Lehman) are forced out of their room and into a tent in the backyard. When a storm hits, the tent fails and the entire Everett family finds themselves awake at 1:00 a.m. with limited options, angering the Professor who decides to turn the tables. A take on "The Man Who Came to Dinner", but not nearly as swift or comical.
