Julian is a washed up magician living in Happiness, Michigan. After multiple failed attempts at a theater show, his wife threatens to leave him and take their daughter Flora along with her if he doesn't find a new job. In a last effort to keep his family, and his passion, Julian resorts to turning his own home into a house of magic. The show is the town joke and miserably failing. In desperation, Julian continuously attempts to create new kinds of magical illusions until he unknowingly, employs the help of some hidden spirits who assist him in doing amazing magic. When the spirits begin bringing back people from the dead, Julian finds himself dealing with much more than he bargained for.
