Troop leaves town for a couple of days in the midst of a windy winter storm as Cole Herod and his father ride into Laramie. They enter the Birdcage where the blind Cole Herod is seated at a table and his father forces all of the men in the bar to say a few words at gun point. When they are done, Zacharia Herod leaves his son while he tends to the horses. Cole asks Lily if Laramie has a good marshal and if she would get him.
