Carly Moulier was cast in Stool: a love story (2018) after being cast in I Don't RememberLand (2019). However, Stool was completed first.

Luis Michaels, Katie McDonald and Carly Moulier were cast in the same day. However, Luis Michaels had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts so Justin Lewis was cast in his place.

Marcus Mero came up with the title while getting food with Zack Enlow. He called his blocked sad memories "I Don't RememberLand" which became the working title for the screenplay and beyond.
