Alex (Carl Betz) rushes to offer medical assistance to neighbor Kathleen Freeman (as Celia Wilgus), who has been accidentally hit with a golf iron. As a reward, grateful husband Howard McNear (as Wilbur Wilgus) offers Alex in on a real estate deal. The Freemans tells the Stones it's a sure-fire money-maker. "The syndicate is behind it," Ms. Freeman reminds. To help fund the deal, Mary (Shelley Fabares) offers to give up lunch, and Jeff (Paul Peterson) offers to stop going to the dentist for a year. Dollar signs in her eyes, Donna plans to remodel the house, with priggish interior decorator Jack Straw (as Mr. Alexander) offering homey advice. Will their ship come in, or sink like a stone?
