My friend Dee showed me this movie shortly after it came out, we are both vampire fanatics. He was another fatality of AIDS. Love Bites had a lot of sexual innuendo, softcore lovemaking, "bitchy" jokes, and a mysterious ending that brought tears to my eyes. The joke that made me ROFLMAO was:

Boy: You're 347 years old?! Count: And still getting carded.

If you liked Nightlife, Lost Boys, and the Friday the 13th Series vampire episodes, then you'll love this film. Homophobes should be tied down and forced to watch this with their eyes prised open like in A Clockwork Orange.

This movie has flaws. It is shot of video without the benefit of great actors, a great director, or a great script. But it is wicked funny, because its got a good premise and does not shy away from any joke, no matter how dumb. It'll probably offend homophobes and people who take vampires too seriously, but it made me chuckle from start to finish.

I really have to say that for a very under budget film, I was very impressed. YES some things are really lame, with some clichés thrown around. But like Rocky Horror, this film is made for pure fun watching. Tom Wagner and Kevin Glover really did a great job. Just watch the movie to enjoy the campyness and don't be over critical about it, it's just purely for fun. Chris Ladd has some funny lines and Bernard Barnes Jarvis is absolutely hysterical as Manfield. The love scene between Tom and Kevin was excellently shot. It wasn't graphic in a porno graphic sense, but was shot really nice. They really made a convincing couple making love. For a very low budget film, the actors did their best. The scene where Chris and Bernard show their new image rock star look was so funny I almost fell of my chair it was so campy.
