Luciën notices Karel has his hand on the knee of a girl in the photo that accompanies the article, meaning Karel was still in the closet in those days. It doesn't really matter though, because Karel doesn't want to go. But when the girl from the picture calls and turns out to be one who organized the whole thing, Karel can't say no. Meanwhile, as always after the affection of the fair Dirkje, Frits has gotten her a cute fluffy bunny, called Frits. He hopes it will somehow create a soft spot for the name Frits in Dirkje's heart.
