Normally, "Four Star Playhouse" episodes are straight dramas. They are rarely fantasy or supernatural pieces. However, this one surely is and plays like a bad episode of "The Twilight Zone" and is disappointing.

Dick Powell plays an American doctor who inexplicably wants to move to a poor town near Havana. You learn it's because of the very high death rate there--much, much higher than the rest of the country. However, he soon learns that the town hates doctors...and apparently it's because it's a superstitious place and some 200 year-old guy doesn't like doctors!! No one has seen him but everyone knows that horrors will befall them if they allow a doctor in town. But, the town already is crappy...so, so much for logic. The conclusion to all this is pretty obvious and it's a rather dopey and disappointing show with little to commend it. Oh well....at least you get to see Dick Powell shoot a couple people...too bad one wasn't the guy who wrote the script!
