Short summary
The premiere episode "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana" contains the first ever TV crossover. Ann Sothern guest-starred playing her "Susie McNamera" character role from her just ending series, Private Secretary (1953).
Desi Arnaz created The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour (1957) just to keep a continuation of I Love Lucy (1951) and originally envisioned it running every week. However, due to the series extremely high production costs (originally estimated by Desilu.com at $350,000 for each program) and other factors with the cast (such as Vivian Vance wanting to leave the show, and Arnaz work load as head of Desilu, in addition to domestic problems between him and Lucille Ball) Arnaz eventually reduced proposed episodes to 10, 8 before settling on 5 in 1957-1958 at $200,000 each. Arnaz sold that season to Ford, who dropped the show before the second season. Westinghouse became sponsor in season 3 & 4, and had a contract for 7 episodes. In those seasons, 8 were produced.

Desi Arnaz created 'Comedy Hour' as a stop-gap continuation of 'I Love Lucy' and originally envisioned it running every week. Barrie Chase appeared briefly as a background dancer in the "Our Ship Is Coming In" number with Desi Arnaz and Cesar Romero. When the show was repeated on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour in July of 1962, CBS promoted Barrie as one of the Guest Stars because, by then, she had gained fame as Fred Astaires dancing partner on three acclaimed television specials.
Both Cesar Romero, with the character role of "The Joker" and Rudy Vallee with character role of "Lord Marmadue Ffogg" appeared as two of Batman's villains and rivals often on Бэтмен (1966).
