    Coulson uncovers General Hale's real agenda and it could be the end of the world if S.H.I.E.L.D. can't help her.

    There are multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe references in this episode, Whitehall mentions the supersoldier American program on WW2, he also mentions the Space Stone, by his time known as the Tesseract. The episode focuses also on the younger versions of Jasper Sitwell, (a future Hydra agent who will work undercover in Shield as we can see in the first Agents of SHIELD season and in other Marvel Cinematic Universe features like The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Wolfgang Von Strucker ( minor villain who has been mentioned several times in the series and appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron).

    This episode was dynamic and great! It feels like a keystone episode in the series in that it's fitting all the arcs of the story from this and past seasons together! This show is one of the most well planned and still surprising series ever! I hope this is leading into a tie in with Avengers:Infinity War because the plot is seemingly just right there for it to pull things together with HYRDA and Thanos arrival on earth!

    Well, I certainly did not expect a flashback episode, let alone one about the Hale character, to be one of the best of the season, but that is exactly the case tonight. Seeing the backstory of Hydra and what they are up to now was well-done and a nice break from the stuff we have gotten recently.

    Not all of it worked, but this was a good episode.
