    The condition of the print of this film is just terrible. Perhaps there's a better looking one than this one currently on YouTube.

    A man is supposedly practicing magic. However, no magician can do these tricks and I can only assume he's a practitioner of the dark arts! So, when Felix spies a cooked chicken and tries to steal it, the 'magician' makes it appear and disappear...and even fly! In fact, the magician then jerks Felix around and makes all sorts of food appear and then disappear--being replaced by things like live snakes and dogs!! Truly this man is the Antichrist! Well, Felix realizes for the good of mankind he must defeat this menace and soon gets the best of him! What's next? See the cartoon.

    Okay...this guy is not Satan or the Antichrist...I just say that because the cartoon has him doing the most ridiculous and impossible things. But this is a weakness of the cartoon...while funny it's also a bit silly even for a Felix the Cat cartoon.

    Felix Monkeys with Magic (1925)

    * 1/2 (out of 4)

    Felix is out walking around when he bumps into a magician and decides to learn some tricks on his own. Out of the seven or eight Felix shorts I've watched this one here is without a question the worst. I haven't been overly impressed with any in the series so far but the majority of them at least had some sort of charm but that's not the case here as I was bored out of my mind at the two-minute mark. The animation was quite nice as usual but the story was just the pits.

    On DVD through various public domain companies.
