Being a huge animation fan and really liking the idea, 'The Son of Bigfoot' had enough to make me want to see it. Seeing it, it may not be among the best films whether animated or not ever (nor did it intend to be) and is not perfect but it achieves very well at what it set out to do and doesn't try to be any more than it actually is, clearly knowing what it wanted to be and who to aim it at.

'The Son of Bigfoot' is perfect for younger children, who are very likely to love it, while older children should also find a lot to like. Adults or the most demanding are likely to find faults and find it easier to criticise, but 'The Son of Bigfoot' does make a real effort to include something for everybody of all ages and to me it succeeded in that. It is easy to criticise it, it is formulaic, it is derivative, some of the pace is a bit too hectic and the villain is rather one-dimensional and neither threatening or interesting (almost silly and actually not really needed).

The very sensitive may object to the use of certain words not usually found in a family film and perhaps also to the Japanese businessmen joke, wasn't myself by it all that much.

However, while not up to the same level as the best films of the major animation studios, 'The Son of Bigfoot' has a lot going for it. The animation is great, it's colourful, beautiful and rich in background and character detail and character designs that move naturally and don't look creepy. The music fits nicely and has an infectious and bubbly vibe.

Writing is also not bad at all, there is some nice wry humour and amusing jokes, without resorting to toilet humour, and just as many sweet, without being over-sentimental, and charming moments. Really liked the themes that the story touches upon, the father and son relationship is beautifully handled and has a lot of heart and it is not hard at all to root for an outsider, especially if you yourself were treated like one.

Of the characters only the villain underwhelms, the others are very engaging while the voice acting achieves a good balance of fun and sweet without going over-the-top in either extreme.

In short, very likable and worth the time as long as one knows what to expect. 7/10 Bethany Cox

This movie was very good, the story was good. A good experience for the whole family. The characters were really funny and had good chemistry. There were a lot of nice moments both between the characters and also with the stunning nature. There are some clichés in this movie. You will get a good laugh of this movie anyway.

One of the best blockbusters animated movies under the sun! If you love animation, woodland- films or father-son relationship movies this is the best movie for you. The plot is stunning, the twists are heartbreaking and overall the movie is completely and utterly beautiful. 10/10 A recommendation to all!

This European production does not have the huge budget of the leading American studios, and the story is coherent but not sophisticated. However, the animation looks good, the character design works well and the film has heart and is fun to watch. Also, I enjoyed the theme of father-son bonding, which is something we don't get a lot of lately.

Okay movie if you don't have anything else to watch. Had its cute moments. But the majority of the movie was very bland. Id pass this up if you're not watching it for your kids.

A PG movie shouldn't be teaching children to use phrases like "stupid idiot" and calling things "crap".

Very negative storyline of bad pharmaceutical company is into disfiguring or killing for profit. Human dad is turned into a bigfoot for his hair- sure! Schools are run by self centered, uncaring administrators and staff. Bullying as usual is part of the plot, as if it's a dominant part of school activity. No subtitles for hearing impaired or for those who think dialogue is important. Basically a bland, not creative, predictable plot.

So many predictable things in this movie. Some bold villain wants nothing more in life than to have a natural hair again. And ofc, to make a lot of money in the process. And he is willing to kill for it, ye, it's a movie for kids, do not be fooled, and yet you have this completely sadistic guy who sets a kid on fire just to get to his dad. Pick an audience! Even for a CEO of a wealthy company, this guy is really off the charts. The Bigfoots are also exaggerated, i can understand the speed, the growing hair, the intense hearing, but making images in your mind based on sound alone in hd detail is really pushing it too far. If they only stopped there, but no, lets add the healing touch, lets get this aura of blue light and just instantly heal what ever injury you might have. And yet this money-hungry CEO is not interested in the possibility of actually making more money in treating serious medical conditions like a leg stuck in a bear trap, noo, he just wants to milk boldies. Oh ye, hipster music, ye, really enjoyed that, one song going on and off during the whole thing. This movie is the sum of all the cliches out there, completely boring. Well, the mother is a total babe, so, there was some eye candy to ease the pain of watching this till the end (ocd and nothing else).

What i really want to know is, how much do these 10 star "critics" get for these movie of the year reviews? Come on, they can't all be movie of the year. And adding masterpiece and genius in your review is just wrong. you guys are liars and sellouts, and i really hope you got the crossed out S and not a C mark on your paypal account for your "honest" opinion.

My son wanted to watch this movie, so we went to watch it. And with it now seen, I must admit that I was actually surprised with the outcome of this movie, because it turned out to be better than I had anticipated.

While "The Son of Bigfoot" hardly is an innovative animated movie, it still offers fun and entertainment from start till end.

The storyline was fun, albeit a bit generic and predictable.

The characters in "The Son of Bigfoot" were funny and nicely detailed, and there were a bunch of hilarious situations throughout the course of the story. This, naturally, added to the overall enjoyment of the movie.

The voice acting in the movie was quite good and really helped the movie along nicely. And with this being an animated movie, the voice acting is crucial.

Very funny film, pictures are good too. Maybe the story could be more serious but the time goes fast.

So bigfoot (a hairy man) with superpowers (has speed and hearing that suits more to superman) is also a magician (can heal by touch) and Snow white (can talk to animals) is chased by a corporation in a world where law enforcement doesn't seems to exist.

The bad guys eventually get on his trail and the mature thing he does is to blame his 12 year old son for leading them to him. But eventually everything works out in a predictable kind of way.

It's a nice film for kids, for me it felt kind of dumb.

Although the animation is pretty and the kid is lovable.

This movie is very good. The animation is excellent and the story is moral and honest. So many elements flow together to make a great coming of age tale. The fantastical spin on the old myth of Bigfoot entertained in to a modern backdrop is entertaining for both parents and kids.

Oh, how completely and utterly delightful! I loved the animation, the characters and the story. It was funny, adventurous and even action-packed. Animated films also usually have that deeper meaning to them, and in this instance it is family values. This was fantastic.

I watched a short trailer which totally captured my interest and after that I had to see the movie. The quality is unbelievable; there are some details in the animation that almost make it look like a real movie and contribute to giving life to the characters. There is a lot of adventure involved which will keep you stuck to the screen until the very end. The story is very good and rich of positive messages. The only reason why I'm not giving this animation a 10 is because the last ten minutes of the movie are a bit too obvious and the human characters rather stereotypical. However, an incredible good and enjoyable story to watch with the entire family!
