Short summary

Small town girl Laura Hollis has just finally moved out to go to Silas University. When her missing roommate is replaced without explanation, Laura vows to find out what is happening on campus while she deals with her new roomy... a vampire.

The fandom calls themselves the Creampuffs, so named after one of Carmilla's many nicknames for Laura

In season two Elise and Natasha would leave the set to another room during intense scenes to hug and tell each other their "I love you"s.

The entire first season was shot in two, two days blocks.

Although she plays the title character, Natasha Negovanlis doesn't apprear until the second episode of the show.

Most episodes of the show were filmed in one take, therefore no one in the cast wanted to be the person who messed up the take. In one episode Matt O'Connor, who plays Wilson Kirsch, knocked off the door handle when his character entered the room. O'Connor was able to discreetly able to hide the broken prop behind his back, and it wasn't noticed until the take was cut. This was the take used for the final product.

The cast of the show are all very good friends in real life. In fact most of the actors have appeared in "Gin-terviews" on actor Kaitlyn Alexander's, who plays LaFontaine, YouTube channel realisticallysaying.

Every episode is shot from one angle, and in one continuous take. Except the Christmas special. The Christmas special featured multiple different camera angles, including cuts to different characters faces, and other action happening within the storyline. When the fans found out about the new camera angles, they went into an excited fit.

Silas University's name is taken from another J. Sheridan Le Fanu novel, Uncle Silas.

Announced that they're will be a Carmilla movie! Set to start filming sometime in 2017.

Laura has a beige cardigan hanging on chair throughout the season but only wears it on Episode 36 (last episode.)

Season Zero is to be released on the 22th of October. This was released shortly after the season 2 finale.

It has been revealed that there will be a second season of Carmilla

The relationship Carmilla and Laura share is ususally translated into the drinks they share. At first, they don't like each other so Laura is disgusted at finding blood in the soy milk box. Later in the season one of the kidnapped girls sais (about her boyfriend) "he is soo sweet, he made cocoa" Carmilla then serves Laura cocoa in apology, though it proves to be ineffective. All the drinks that Carmilla serves Laura later on are served in Laura's tardis mug, her favorite. They come to a level of friendship (worst crush ever) and acceltance of each other that when they are investigating the sumerian tome, not only does Carmilla serve Laura a drink but also serves herself a clear glass of blood, which clearly shows and places it nonchalantly next to Laura's cookies, which she loves with a passion. It shows a lot that they are able to share their respective drinks with each other without feeling disgusted.

Laura Hollis, played by Elise Bauman, is the only character to appear in all 36 episodes of season 1

I undoubtedly recommend this great web series to all of you!For those who are not aware of it,carmilla is a vampire character from a book with the same title! This web series has everything that's necessary for a show to be worth watching it.The acting is great and the chemistry among the cast and especially between the two main characters creates a very special and unique atmosphere. The plot is interesting enough to keep you alert and wanting more and more episodes!Unfortunately each one of them is only lasts a few minutes, but that's what make your "desire" for this show growing! And the best part of all is the tension between carmilla and laura that will definitely leave you breathless!(and you can find the episodes on youtube)

Although the series starts a little slow and might lack the bigger budgets of more dynamic online series, it has a honest and antiquated atmosphere which lets you connect deeply with the characters; not unlike a Harry Potter miniseries.

The recent popularity of this series is unprecedented and continues to march beyond 10 million Youtube Views (end of 2014).

It's also a breath of fresh air at how the characters gender and sexual identities are unabashedly poised and brings a fresh breath of normalcy to modern relationships.

The lead (Elise Bauman) and title lead (Natasha Negovanlis) actors who play Laura and Carmilla are charmingly believable and are able to bring their own genuine and entertaining wit. The supporting cast complement each other splendidly and are well developed as well as entertaining.

I strongly recommend giving this show a watch if you're a guy or girl, straight or not so straight as you will find that long lost fun mixing in old school Buffy, Sabrina with a mix of modern Sookie Stackhouse.

I would honestly recommend this to every single person I see if that were socially acceptable. Making female perspectives the default (in Tatiana Maslany's words) is so refreshing and just watching the show is empowering. It's cheesy romantic fantasy, yes, but: - there's a gender non-binary character - there are multiple gay characters - the main couple is lesbian - all of the lead roles are female - the girls save the boys, not the other way around - there's an emphasis on both girl-on-girl friendship and romantic attraction, portrayed better than those things usually are (probably because most creators/crew are women) So 8/10 for representation. It's just not a typical web series. It's obviously low-budget, but they do it well, and I think that actually allows you to focus more on the story. The acting is 7/10 overall, but they interact incredibly well with each other and the actors are such awesome people in real life that their personality shines through the characters. It's funny, heartwarming, frustrating, intelligent, romantic, silly, and serious all at the same time. I can't think of any other web series like it, nor any other series like it, for that matter. It's so unique, both in a "wtf how did they come up with that" way and in the way it handles fantasy and real issues together. I give it a 10/10 because it's one of those things that once you watch it, there's nothing specific you can say to explain why it affects you. Movies, series, books, and music that you truly love are often impossible to explain, you just have to watch it to understand. J Sheridan LeFanu wrote an excellent novella, but this adaptation is a whole new level of wonderful. The fandom is also really excellent. In short, if you're not watching Camilla, you're really missing out.

The story and characters are all great. My only complaint is the format. This show would have been infinitely better if they didn't use the webcam gimmick. Every episode that is shot normally is so much more visually interesting. I know that this show was low-budget, and they probably couldn't have shown all the monsters and stuff, but just moving the camera around the room would've helped this show a lot. Its visually boring, and as it goes on it makes less and less sense why she's recording everything.
