Tobi tracks down Nate, who denies killing Kiri, saying that he lost her but he is nonetheless arrested. Miriam's life and career might be heading for destruction. Not only is her job is at risk, her union rep suggests that she could be thrown out as a Social Worker. It is more than she just made the wrong call regarding taking Kiri to her grandparents for an unsupervised visit, the accusation is that she was negligent. With the press camped outside her house and being attacked on the streets, Miriam is not in a good place.

However neither is Tobi, Kira's grandfather. He visits the drug dens and finds his son Nate. We now know that Tobi arranged for his estranged son to see Kiri one last time but he abducted her. However Nate is adamant that he did not kill her and that she ran away from him. No matter what, Tobi and Nate look to be at fault here.

Alice and Jim, Kiri's foster parents make media appearances but seem surprised that DI Mercer is keeping an open mind and is pursuing other angles to Kiri's death which includes questioning them over their son Simon.

I was pleasantly surprised at the direction of the second episode. We get to find more about the relationship between father and son (Tobi and Nate) and pretty early on we figure that Nate might not be the one who killed her. This drama has more twists yet and it not all about Miriam.
