Short summary

Ivanova prepares for her first resistance broadcast. Garibaldi is reunited with his former lover Lise Hampton.

The original script called for Ivanova to talk with Draal, the custodian of the planet Epsilon III. However, John Schuck, who played Draal, was at that time appearing on Broadway so the story was altered to incorporate Zathras.

This takes place from May 17 to May 19, 2261.

Voice of the Resistance was inspired by the anti-propaganda broadcasts of the Free French during World War II.

Because BABYLON 5 is a series that looks more like a long extended movie or soap opera, many episodes feature relatively mundane plots that are necessary to transition to one main theme to another. Now that the Shadows and Vorlon have left the galaxy, the next theme to be addressed is the dictatorship of President Clark and B-5's efforts to remove him from office. This episode in one to get the ball rolling towards this eventual conflict.

Since Clark took complete control of Earth, ISN News has been his propaganda machine--churning out false and misleading stories that seek to justify his iron-fisted rule as well as discredit B-5. So, Sheridan decided in the last episode that the station needs to offer a news show to counter these lies. Starting in episode 4.12, Ivanova has begun broadcasting the truth.

In addition, the other main theme of this episode is an attempt by Sheridan to get two life-long enemies, G'Kar and Londo to show some solidarity in supporting the new fledgling alliance. But, G'Kar is understandably bitter and it seems unlikely this alliance could ever occur.

All in all, a decent episode, but also one that COULD be skipped, as both plots are dealt with in the previous as well as future episodes.
