This story is unusual because it deals with the sentimental side of the Chinese character. A married couple in search of a house servant hire a Chinaman. After a time the couple quarrel. John, the Chinaman, acts as a peacemaker. A serious estrangement then occurs. Again, faithful John comes to the rescue, until he comes to be looked upon as an indispensable jewel of the household. The theme is an absorbing one and upon unique and original lines. We are of the opinion that this tale will, in point of novelty, prove a moving picture surprise, because in the treatment of the story, the directing and the acting nothing is unnatural or overdone.
