Short summary

A muscial adventure story. A scary fairy tale. And much more. The production style is interesting and unusual. The Book of Spells started out as a mixed media stage production. The stage production was filmed and all the material including the original video clips used in the stage production were re-constructed into this feature length movie. It's a great story too. Inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest it's an adventure that goes wrong. There's a subtle anit-war message. And enthusiastic performances by a group of young actors. The script made the semi finals list of the 2009 Moondance International Film Festival. And the stage production won a couple of important awards when it was performed in England in 2008. This is theatre and film making in the raw - and it works well. It's entertaining and unique.
