After failing to control a riot - actually caused by Homer - Chief Wiggum is discredited and, having formed a successful private law force called Spring Shield, Homer is invited by Mayor Quimby to become the town's new chief of police. His huge success rate, however, makes him unpopular with local mobsters, who try to rub him out and, after he is saved from them by a mystery sniper - who turns out to be Maggie - he returns the badge of office to Chief Wiggum.
