Short summary

Uncredited remake of "Ghost". Dead man's spirit, unable to bear separation from his wife, communicates to her through a wacky medium.

Wealthy Avinash Saxena is killed by his cousin Vimal who wants to take over his property and estate. Avinash leave behind his widow wife Pooja who is abused by Vimal; this makes Avinash soul unable to find a resting place and continues to wonder in turmoil trying to warn Pooja about the impending danger but she is unable to neither see nor hear him. One day luck favors him when he meets a fortune teller Maya Gangadhami who can listen to his voice and through her he is able to communicate with his wife.

B Subhash complained that mid way Rahul Roy stopped giving dates. Rahul Roy complained that B.Subash scrapped 70% of the film and re shot it.

B Subhash got Rahul Roy's voice dubbed in the film.

The film was offered to Anu Aggarwal.

Amrita Singh was hesitant to accept the film because she did not want to be slotted in character roles. She was then asked to reduce her price as they told her the budget was very tight .

B.Subhash was rushing to complete the film first due to the movie Maa having the same type of story line. Both were remakes of Ghost.

The song Aaja Aaja was sampled from Dolly Parton song Jolene.

The song Tumse Thoda Sa Main Door Hoon was sampled from the song Your My Fasination by Demis Roussos.

...it is a Bollywood re-make of "GHOST" - Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze - with nothing much changed except with some songs put in.

My memory might be a bit dodgy cos it's been about 10 years since I watched this but it was like a dubbed version of the Hollywood version - I can't remember anything different happening!

The settings are the same, the characters the same, the story the same - just all Bollywoodised. Rahul Roy as Swayze, Amrita Singh as Whoopi Goldberg and Mohnish Behl as the best friend/turned villain. Even the ghost guy from the subway is there (played by one of the bad guys from "AGNEEPATH")!

Worth watching if only to p*ss yourself from laughing at the blatant copying that Bollywood at the time was prone to.

Actually...

One thing was different - the title: shouldn't it have been called "BLAA"?

Pyar ka Saaya is inspired from ghost.the plot is quite like the Oscar winning Hollywood movie.though the treatment and a number of hit romantic and some great dance numbers songs by Nadeem Shravan make it quite different.direction and acting is good,song no.s like

make it great to watch.it has romance,humor and drama.the two heroines Sheeba and Amrita Singh give good performance.Amrita Singh is quite funny in her role.
