Dan is fishing with Two-Leaf, his tribe's Chief and the man's grandson. When the Chief goes for a walk he comes across some motorcyclists. Dan and Two-Leaf find him dead. They try to find the ones who did it but they appeared to have disappeared. Dan learns of an archaeologist who's working on the reservation and goes to speak to her who tells Dan that she saw three motorcycles get into a van and left. Dan tries to find them. At the same time the tribe is in need of a new Chief and Two-Leaf and the grandson are being considered. And at the same time a Japanese businessman wants to do a project on the reservation which the Chief was hesitant to approve. And it appears the grandson wants to approve it.
