» » Green Acres Uncle Fedor (1965–1971)

Short summary

Lisa's skittish Uncle Fedor uses the Douglas' home to hide out--mostly under the bed and sofa. He claims he's on the run from the Secret Police who want him for a valuable formula he's smuggling out of Hungary. When a man with a scar shows up in Hooterville asking questions, his wild tale starts to seem believable. Skeptical Oliver contends the whole story is phony and Fedor's just a relative who's come to mooch off of them for a while.

Haney's Do-It-Yourself Protection Kit consists of a direct line to the FBI (via a phone in a shoe) and an Army-trained Commando dog disguised in a zip-up chimp suit.

Lisa explains that Fedor is not really her uncle. He's her father's cousin on the other side of her mother. He rented a room from them at the palace.

This isn't my favorite episode, but it does have Len Lesser and Leo Fuchs, two familiar faces from many programs. Len Lesser played Uncle Leo on Seinfeld. Leo Fuchs is a good character actor.

On the other hand, it doesn't have Arnold the Pig. Oh, well.

Fuchs plays Uncle Fedor, who is running from the secret police. Fuchs plays a man with a scar who is asking questions about Uncle Fedor.

Oliver has a nice scene. Anytime he gets near the refrigerator or back door, he tends to get injured. In this episode, it happens again, but in a different fashion than usual.

Overall, it's okay, but nothing special.
