Karate, Film, Café? On Hollywood & Vine Streets in Hollywood, California there's a karate school teaching a weird kind of martial arts, a DVD store stocking movies that nobody wants to watch, and a café with the world's worst cook. (Patchouli Surprise Brownies anyone?) The owners and employees of these different establishments at turns avoid, disrespect and love each other too. Add to the story a crazy Italian with an espresso habit, a musician with terrible allergies, and a computer nerd who thinks everyone is in love with her and you've got a bizarre premise for a movie! But it works. With no small thanks to the wonderful mix of characters who pull engaging performances with a serious commitment to fun. Come on down to Hollywood & Vine for some love, death, bad food, good music and refreshingly down home filmmaking! And don't forget the electric floating folk angel.
