Comparing with the high quality productions of some American stars like Rihana, demi lovat, Bebe rexha and Lady Gaga was so funny and sometimes we need to see the weak performance of some American dreamers. I don't think that being American dreamer not real American or living in America must be supposed as a green light to be silent about quality. Of course we must choose tougher criteria in considering quality to show every one that the American productions quality are mattered.

Here we have the music video for the 2017 song "Havana" by Cuban singer Camila Cabello and I must admit that I don't think I have come across her in any previous project, neither solo nor with Fifth harmony, even if there have been a great amount of songs apparently. But the wait was somewhat worth it as Dave Meyers' music video here delivers mostly and I believe Cabello is much more than the next Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande. Her singing offers some potential I think from what i hear here, but it seems to me that they sacrificed some of it for the catchiness factor. Anyway, it runs for almost 7 minutes and there is a plot and story in here, the first 2.5 minutes without music actually even and it was somewhat fun. Still I felt that it is a bit of a missed opportunity overall, it wasn't bad, but I saw the potential for more in basically every area of production and lets be honest, the song is far from deep and I guess, if at all, you must have a special connection with Cuba (like the singer) to really feel something while listening to this one. Nonetheless, it's better than most other recent music videos I have come across and it is also one I believe where checking out the video is worth it and I think you find something else interesting if you don't just listen to the record. Not a must-see, let alone must-buy by any means though. The Youtube attention is definitely way too much. A cautious thumbs-up from me, also for the catchy chorus.
