Jesus Is My Rock: a celebration of Gospel music from Oxford and Lafayette Co., MS is a live concert of Gospel groups from North Mississippi. The film shows performances from local Gospel groups, many of which have been performing for decades. The live footage is interspersed with interviews with the performers. This shows the connected nature of the Gospel community and how many of the groups form out of the family unit. Jesus Is My Rock contains some of the most inspiring live performances of Southern Gospel music being made today. The film shows how groups develop in families and how these families continue the tradition from generation to generation. In the end, the spirit of the music remains at the heart of the film.
